I can't say that Coachella started off to an excess of success but I can say even a bad day at the polo field in Indio, California isn't so bad. First off, and not to rub it in to my friends in Utah, but I am sitting under blues skies with the sun beating down a happy ninety degrees while jotting this out. The day started when I messed up my wristband and had to walk about for about two hours to fix my idiocy while my friends got a head start on me, then when I finally got in and had a beverage in my hand, Bam Margera (yeah, that guy) bumped into me by accident and spilled my beer on me. Then I lost my wallet with my entire Coachella budget, $500 in cash contained within the blue leather. Oh, did I mention there’s music, too. Day one I caught, Warpaint, The Black Keys, Interpol, Kings of Leon, a bit of Sleigh Bells but the crown of the day was The Chemical Brothers - absolutely mind blowing. I have a newfound respect for that band. Here are a few pictures from the first day. More to come tomorrow…
See you all again in a couple days.
