Recap: Alternative Press Music Awards

Last night in Cleveland, Ohio the inaugural Alternative Press Music Awards paved the way for the future of alternative music. There were monstrous performances from upcoming bands such as Twenty One Pilots, Alternative hotshots All Time Low & A Day To Remember, and rock legends like Slash(yes, from Guns N’ Roses), Joan Jett, and The Misfits. An event like this only has room to grow, meaning that with each year this event will help spotlight this scene and help bring many of its talented bands into mainstream attention(if that is the goal). Just because a band doesn’t make it to the Grammys doesn’t mean that its not deserving of awards and attention. The awards were voted on by fans and here are the results along with the performances:

Well, there you have it! Overall, it was a great music awards show and a promise of something truly great in the years to come. After a few audio/sound engineering problems are fixed, online streaming becomes avaiable and a more accessible channel provides this awards show; then, this will certainly become one powerhouse of an awards show.
