We love the new song "I Believe" by Basic Vacation. We love it so much that we want to give you a free download!
As the resident punk/ska nerd, not to mention the 90's at Noon guy.. It's officially my job to let the kids know when a ska show rolls through town. Reel Big Fish will be stopping in SLC tomorrow night on their "Don't Stop Skankin'!" tour. It will be nice to see them do a full set since they were only allowed the standard 30 minutes when they were here for Warped in the summer.
Also, I'm stoked to see my friends from Suburban Legends open up the show! If you've been to Disneyland in the last few years, you might have caught SL in Tomorrowland. They're one of the bands that gets to rise up on the Tomorrowland Terrace stage and rock the kids with punk versions of Disney songs, and mad choreography :) All of which we'll see tomorrow night at The Murray Theater. Oh! and our local pals The Anchorage will be there! We saw them at the X96 Nightmare Before Xmas last month!
I can't wait to skank with the kids! And by "skank" I mean "Stand in the back and eat nachos"
See you there!
Tyler Glenn for Neon Trees talks about the brand new song, the new album, and why he was almost ready to quit!
A buddy of mine just posted this video from Youtube showing what would end up being Nirvana's final performance in The United States. Kinda grainy VHS style. It's almost like watching the Blair Witch Project..
"Blue Monday" by New Order became an alternative classic. From its stuttering eletronic drums to its spaghetti-western bass guitar, you know this song. And if you are like me, you love this song! This Swedish documentary shows some great stories from the band members about how this song was created. The narration is in Swedish with english subtitles, but most of it is spoken in english by the band. If you love new wave music from the 80s, you'll definitely enjoy this :)
