At the Cinco d X show our at Saltair last week I saw a band I was unfamiliar with but really liked; The Drowning Men. The lead singer plays guitar, keyboards, and the Theramin, which is what you see him doing in this picture:

The Theramin was invented by a Russian guy named Leon Theramin, pictured at the beginning of this blog. To find out more about this go here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin

Two nights later I was watching a new episode of the Simpsons. Someone in the show was playing...a Theramin.  Then I picked up the latest copy of The New Yorker.  There's an article in it about a band called DeVotchKa and they use a Theramin in their act.

So. Three Theramin refernces in less than a week. What is the universe trying to tell me?
