Tonight's selection is by Ghetto Tea Party called "Sweet Machine." In the band's words, "The members of GTP are influenced by all things musical, 80’s glam, grunge, modern-hard rock and alternative and even jazz and classical. The sound of GTP can be described as a mix between T. Rex and Foo Fighters; although the heart & soul of GTP, lyrical content, sentiments and themes are original, relatable and easily appreciated." I wouldn't disagree with their self-analysis but in "Sweet Machine" I also hear elements of Elliot Smith's indie soul and some good 70's rock twang on the vocals that work great with the lyrics.
Ghetto Tea Party consist of:
Christopher Stearman: Lead Vocal, Guitar, Keys. Past projects are Wish and Medicine Circus
Jonni Lightfoot: Backing Vocal, Bass, Keys. Past projects are Nite Lite, Skit-Skat, Wish and Jonni is currently the bassist for Air Supply and makes his living as a professional musician.
Wes Whorton: Drums. Past projects are Medicine Circus (early), Andrew Goldring and numerous by-the-hour studio projects.
Ghetto Tea Party don't have any shows scheduled at the moment but they do perform live so check their facebook for any upcoming show info.
